From a family estate of a World War I veteran b. This authentic German Naval Officer's double-breasted greatcoat was produced by Werner Mahlberg, Altenkessel - Saar (West Germany) circa 1960s-1970s. A Cold War-era Bundesmarine (West German Navy) coat built in the WWII officer style, featuring heavy wool construction, satin lining, and anchor buttons.

Double-breasted front with six gold anchor buttons. Shoulder epaulets and rear half-belt detail. Maker: Werner Mahlberg - Altenkessel (Saarland, West Germany). Tag includes NATO contract no.

Size EU 45 (US 40-42). Heavy navy wool outer, black satin lining. Excellent condition - no moth damage, light storage dust only. Although produced post-WWII, this style directly follows German naval greatcoats from the 1930s-40s and is often described as "WWII style" by collectors. Retained in the collection of a WWI veteran until his passing in 1986.
