Truthfully I don't know what this is. Based on the shape and size, it's hard to imagine anything other than an aircraft prop going inside it. The writing indicates it came from the Neubiberg Luftwaffe airfield in Munich.

After a little research, it seems this was home base for some Me 262s as well as the experimental Dornier Do-335, which had short-bladed propellers on both the front and back of the fuselage. Possibly this was used to store a replacement propeller blade?

I do know it was brought home by an American soldier and he used it to store his other trophies in. If you happen to know for a fact exactly what it's for, please message me! I'm always keen to learn about weird items I find.

Description of item is correct to the best of my knowledge at the time of listing. Condition as stated is what I deem as an accurate assessment of the condition and integrity of the product.
