Wwi / Wwii German Boot Fighting Knife Metal Scabbard Sheath With / Spring Clip
My research on this item has not pin pointed / identified this item fully. Any help on fully identifying would be appreciated.
There appears to be no visible markings that can be seen through the current patina of this item. I don't want to mess with. Patina and damaging the potential value.
The formed ball point appears to be a trait of other German sheathes seen. The spring clip not only would slip over the edge. Of a boot or to clip quickly onto ammo belt. The upper loop I suspect was to accommodate a secondary garter type leather. Belt that secures the scabbard onto the leg.
