VERY RARE SWISS WRIST WATCH On the back of the watch inscription German submarine U-185 was a Type IXC/40 U-boat of Germany's Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II & 10th U-boat Flotilla German 10. Unterseebootsflottille was a German U-boat flotilla used for front-line combat purposes during World War II. Watch is in practically very good state with slight tear & wear.

German submarine U-185 was a Type IXC/40 U-boat of Germany's Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II. Under the command of Kapitänleutnant August Maus, she had some success against Allied aircraft in World War II.

Laid down on 1 July 1941 by DeSchiMAG AG Weser of Bremen as yard number 1025, she was launched on 2 March 1942 and commissioned on 13 June. The 10th U-boat Flotilla German 10.

Founded on 15 January 1942 at Lorient under the command of Korvettenkapitän Günther Kuhnke, eighty U-boats operated with this flotilla before it was dissolved on 21 August 1944, and the remaining U-boats were moved to bases in Norway and Germany. Kuhnke himself took command of U-853, the last U-boat to leave, on 27 August 1944 to sail to Flensburg where he assumed command of 33rd U-boat Flotilla.
