Reproduction WW2 German Waffen SS Camouflage Face Veil
You're viewing a handmade reproduction of the camouflage face veil used by the German Waffen SS during World War II. The veil is woven on a specially made loom using braided cotton cord and twisted cotton string and sections sewn together with polyester thread. It fits up to size 68 Stahlhelm shells with a 1 sliding brass buckle and cotton herringbone twill strap.
Like the original, it features reversible spring and autumn sides with camouflage patterns painted in acrylic. The strands appear stiff in the pictures as they are iron pressed to heat-set the camouflage paint. For a more natural look for use or display like they would appear in actual dated photos, it's recommended to gently stretch the veil sideways or wash using cold water to loosen the fibers.
