Everyone knows that Michael Janke of Germany makes and has made the best stitch for stitch copies of WW2 German uniforms and hats hands down for decades. I bought this one used from the only importer of Janke products at the time. Years ago he used stocks of wartime materials and even ex-WW2 tailors were used to assemble his stock.
This one has been around for a while and may fall into that category. A tunic this nice deserved the best insignia and has it. The collar tabs are moleskin wool with Rayon embroidery. The sleeve Alder is the closest to original I have seen. The EK2 ribbon is original and the shoulder boards are correct wool and cotton with no-glo wool piping. All buttons are original and last but not least, it includes a 1970s DR title that has the correct S&P backing and fooled a lot of collectors back in the day. Not the ribbon crap titles made today. As an added bonus it also has a Eastern Euro (Hungary, I believe) GA badge that looks original.
