German Helmet Cover, Elite Troops
Here is an "elite troops" helmet cover for a German WWII helmet. I believe this to be a post-war constructed cover, but one of the very best reprodution covers out there. The cover is constructed with original German WWII cotton duck material printed in 1-2 plane tree pattern.
The construction is almost exactly like originals. Even the springs look correct and even looked aged.
Many advanced collectors have been fooled by covers such as these. I don't know the source of these and who knows for sure, they could even be original, but I doubt it. The cover is displayed on an original German WWII M-42 helmet, size 66 shell. The cover fits very snugly (actually perfectly) on this M-42 size 66 shell.
