Helmet is an exact copy of an original! In both design and material construction. Painted in Normandy camouflage scheme With 1.8mm thick steel construction that has the weight of an original as well. TRULY accurate Normandy camo scheme! See last photo of a genuine period helmet from the time!

It is up to some debate exactly when this method began among German soldiers but by the time of the Normandy campaign it was widespread. In mid 1943 the German high command ordered that a three color camouflaged scheme of tan, green and brown be used in the painting of vehicles and other equipment. (See photos) If you've seen Band or brothers or any other historically accurate show or documentary this was the "panzer" color scheme applied to German tanks in Normandy and the famous hedgerows.

So it's not unlikely that a German soldier would have seen a tank being repainted in the field before the operation and asked for a quick spray of tan and brown over his originally issued feldgrau "field green" or greenish with a slight grey tone colored helmet! I have seen many "Normandy camo" helmets listed for sale that are just NOT accurate! This one could be set on a tank in 1943 Custom hand aged liner (not dyed) and no chemicals used only natural oils and heat/friction! It does look a lot less aged than the other helmet I have listed! See side by side photos but I have been steadily working on the other for over 2 months.

Liner is maker marked and dated with original early war stampings 1931 with size stamped 68! Liner will fit head sizes 7-75/8.

They are made from exact copies of originals down to certain factories having subtle differences in printing such as the Quist factory eagle or the early vs mid war Luftwaffe markings! They are water transfer like the originals and will be sealed to the helmet with a lacquer just like the originals were! Please message me if you would like to know more! I can also get heer(army), kriegsmarine (navy), afrika core (DAK), as well as many others all with the same attention to detail!!

Thanks for looking and check out my other items/past sales!
