REPRO U-97 ("Das Boot") German U-Boat Kriegsmarine Kapitan Cap (Size 58/7-1/4). This is a REPRODUCTION Kreigsmarine (German Navy) visor cap of the type worn by senior commanders aboard the U-Boats during WWII. The cap has the German roundel and the naughty German "spread eagle" metal eagle (which cannot be shown except in a sideview). The cap is a size 58 European which is equivalent to a US size 7-1/4. If in doubt, measure your head with a tailor's tape measure (7-1/4 is 22-5/8). It was only occasionally worn by me while re-enacting, so it's in VERY GOOD+ condition. To make it literally "salty", I dipped the crown in the Pacific Ocean! Best of all, it has sewn on the left side the " laughing swordfish" emblem of the 9th Flotilla, as made famous by the movie Das Boot! Here's an opportunity for the KM U-Boat re-enactor to obtain a great visor cap price for his impression at the same price I paid 30-years ago!
