Replica GrW 34 WW2 German Mortar (non-firing)
This is an original built replica of the German WW2 81mm mortar, non-firing replica. The body/ tube is thick wall PVC with a steel inner core tube. Base plate is constructed of screwed and glued ply with a metal top plate screwed on top with anchor wedge detail done in hardwood. Base of the tube inserts onto the base plate with a steel ball joint with inset rubber receptacle. Bipod assembly secures to the tube via 3/16strap metal collar with two steel bolts. Elevation control knob at front left and two other knobs which lock the bipod mechanism into place. The bipod can be reduced to carrying mode (photo#4) and the munition box fit into the recess of the baseplate. Bipod legs can be extended via telescoping sliders (aluminum) locked with a tab on each leg. Bottom of each leg has an articulated foot and prong which imbeds into the ground.
