You don't need to wait for the manufacture. Famous nailed high-boots of German soldier, essential boots of the Third Reich. "Shark nose" and wide shaft. Made of natural bull leather: nose detail directed flesh side out. This is to let nose not soak, if pores chocked out with grease properly. The boots are constructed faithfully in accordance to original examples. Complete with the shark nose, flesh-out vamp, flesh in heel (to keep the socks dry while on long marches if the boots were not properly conditioned), and rear seam. Marschsteifel, or commonly referred to as the jackboots, was the standard marching boot for the German soldier from the mid-19th Century to the end of WWII.

The boots saw service in WWI as well as WWII with a few small changes. The boots we offer are of the 1939 style with the shortened calf.

This shortening of roughly 5 centimeters was done to save material. The boots are made of vegetable tanned leather (brown colour as shown in the picture), then dyed black with special penetration black paint (professional series). You get already black boots.

We strongly recommend to grease them before 1st use. The soles of the boots come completely wood-pegged.

Every sole is nailed with 30-40 6-facet nails (number of nails depends on size). Iron heels are original German-made. Every heel is nailed to the heel with 5 nails and then those nails are covered with a piece of leather to help secure it more. Measure both your foot lenght and insole lenght (take an insole from your old boots). There should be a room about 1/2 inch (1 cm) in front of your toe when you wear these boots. This is also shown in the original German illustration on boot sizing. Remember, boots get smaller after a year use (leather items tend to shrink with time). If you want to use thick socks or extra insole, you'd better take plus size. Leather care is time-consuming, but essential in this hobby.

Greasing is obligatory for vegetable tanned leather before the first use, otherwise boots will crack and fall apart. You can simply put the grease on the surface and let it soak in. Use a mixture of grease and wax and put it melted; then heat boots, so the mixture impregnate it deeply, chocking out pores and seams.

A German soldier took care of all his equipment all the time. Belongings were not his; these were the Reich property!

You should support it as well, putting grease or oil every time after it got wet. I have 42, 43 EUR sizes now. Other sizes are made by order during 3-4 weeks.
