DDR German Drumsticks Solid Wood Brass Butts Military Drum 50+Years Old #41006
These are clearly DDR time. The drumsticks are very nicely crafted from solid wood and brass (what more would one expect from the German military). Both have triangular tension rod key fittings (as shown) originally used for disassembling of drum and each length of the triangle measures 12 mm (a standard size). This pair has beautiful colour and a nice clear finish that illuminates the warmth in the wood even more. I offer (if still available) another pair with better colour and less visible wear.
Drumsticks such as these were commonly used during WW2, however drumsticks similar to these have dated back to the late 1800's when brass production became affordable and the development of the marching drum progressed (largely a German undertaking). These sticks are a great and more affordable option to the originals I offer and would compliment any well preserved German military drum one may have in their collection, or that I offer myself. The later DDR drumsticks (currently offered by me) have a much different finish which is easily distinguishable to these early makes. Measurements: L ength, 41 mm. Diameter of base, 20 mm. The sticks were received together and are a perfect match. Attention: If you intend to pair these with your German drum, be aware that the size of the triangular tension rod heads differ (mostly depending on drum size).
